Harris Surly Pack Rat
Harris came at the shop asking for a bicycle that would support his daily commute to work or one day trips, with stability and enough gears for uphills. His right hand cannot grab the handlebars, so he needed to control the bicycle with one hand and change the gears also. That was challenging, but we found the solution quickly. We’ve suggest him Surly Pack Rat frameset specifically designed around porteur-style racks and front-loading optimization. Also the 26″x2.00 fat tires gave him very good stability for commuting in our “gravel” Athenian asphalt and a one-hand operation brake lever completed the set-up.
For this complete build we have used Shimano 2×9 gears, Gippiemme wheels, Continental tires 26×2.00, Shimano shifters, Ergotec Saddle and handlebars. After a few rides we’ve added a handlebar bottle cage for his moring coffee and a Wald basket for his stuff.
Ride on Harris!
