Mercier Tour De France bicycle Restoration
Dimitris wanted to cycle again after many years. He had a vintage Mercier road bicycle waiting in the storage for some years. For this restoration we have changed the shifters from downtube to the stem and added two brake levers for security reasons, when you cycle with your hands on the straight part of the bars. The main brake lever is Shimano with the cables running inside the bar tape and the inline Promax brake levers are working excellent with the vintage Mafac brakes.
We have also changed the chainwheel with Shimano 48x38x28 teeth (for more comfort) and now Dimitris can cycle everywhere. Rims and hubs were polished and laced with new spokes. Panaracer Pasela 700×32 with low pressure will enter this bicycle into every terrain.
Long Live the Steel Bicycles!
