Kynast mixte bicycle renovation
I had this vintage Kynast (german made) frameset hanging at my workshop a long time. Just before the summer vacations I’ve realized that I didn’t have any bicycle at my vacation island Samos. So a few days before leaving for Samos, I’ve decided to make it a complete bicycle mainly for my summer needs.
The highlights of this build was the flat pedals (must in summer cause you can pedal with your slipers), and the comfy bars with added bar ends, in the middle of the bars for more hand postitions. One of the highlights also was the extra big tires of Surly Knard 700×41, which fitted exactly in this vintage frame and gave more relaxed feel to the complete bicycle with a tire thread for mixed terrain!
Bike check: new bottom bracket – touring chainwheel – Shimano chain – Shimano grip-shift – Shimano levers – flat big pedals – long reach brakes – SMP saddle – city style bars with bar end in the middle – touring Italian made wheels Gipiemme – Surly Knard 700×41 tires – rear rack and front rack with basket.
All above parts combined and workrd together perfect and gave me a super shooth bicycle for all my needs in the island.
Steel is real!
